I was 1st to the beach & the tide was way out, there was plenty of wind though, so i rigged 4.2m & 76lt Maui wave.
By the time i had got changed the wind had increased, so with the long walk out & knowing it would be windier out on the water i changed down to 3.8m as other people started to arrive. Some had wind meters that were showing 40knts.
Walking into the wind was hard work,1st run out & fully stacked on 3.8. loads of waves everywhere, chest to head height but nicely spaced as water not that deep. The gusts were full on,most of the usally brown water was white frooth.
As the tide pushed in quick with the help of the strong wind & the bay filled up the waves got bigger out the back, some of the swell was double head high but never feeling unsafe, just very windy, where i sailed on my own for ages,i could see a few others sailing just of the beach now.
After 3hrs of manic sailing with big jumps, running down large swells, afew catapults at mach 9 & feeling knackered,Bad Back Stu said he would take some photos & i\'d better try some back loops,Soi spent half hour in the shore break messing around & swimming after kit from failed backloop attemps.Good fun but very knackering in 40-45knt winds.
